Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Arizona Senior Preferred plans, “C,” and, “N,” are available for residents of Maricopa, Pima, Apache, Cochise, Coconino, Mohave and Santa Cruz counties in Arizona. The Arizona Medicare supplement PPO Senior Preferred plans offer lower monthly premiums than the Arizona Senior Security plan F, but require that you use physicians and hospitals in the BCBSAZ Senior Preferred provider network, quite large as a matter of fact. The exception is in cases of emergencies, the in-network requirement is waived.

Since there are over 15,000 providers in the Arizona Senior Preferred network, and more joining often, there are ample choices in primary care physicians and specialists. You have the freedom to choose any Arizona Senior Preferred physician you want to see and are not required to go through a primary care physician gatekeeper. Using network providers means lower out-of-pocket costs and higher savings on premiums.

If don’t plan on traveling extensively for much of the year, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Arizona Medicare supplement plan Senior Preferred PPO may be just for you.
There is no waiting period. Other Arizona Medicare supplement plans may make you wait for coverage, but with Blue Cross® Blue Shield® of Arizona Senior Security or Senior Preferred you have no waiting period for pre-existing conditions, although medical underwriting may be required.

For those disabled under the age of 65 that qualify for Medicare A & B, any insurance company offering a Medicare Advantage plan in Arizona must offer coverage to those in this group. Humana is one such company. Humana may be reached at 800.457.4708. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Arizona does not offer Medicare Advantage plans, only Medicare supplement policies to those 65 and up. There are no insurance companies in Arizona offering Medicare supplement plans to those under 65 with Medicare A and B.
