Arizona Short Term Health Insurance policies are half the cost of an ACA individual plan yet offer excellent coverage. The majority of applicants are approved, and benefits may begin within 24 hours.

Short term medical (STM) plans typically do not cover any pre-existing conditions present within the last five years, maternity, or preventive care… though most Pivot short-term plans are now offering preventive benefits. Also new to several STM plans is tele-medicine coverage.

The name “Short Term” is a misnomer when applied to short term health insurance in Arizona. Arizona law allows for such policies to be in force for up to 3 years at a time, which, obviously, is not a short period of time. Most states limit STM plans to a few months in total policy duration before the applicant is forced into a much more expensive individual ACA policy if they wish to remain covered.

One major benefit of having a 3-year short term policy is that any covered medical condition that arises in the first year is covered in the following two years as well.
