Applicants under the age of 65 applying for an ACA compliant policy will not be required to answer medical questions. Policies are guaranteed issue during open enrollment, and during certain qualifying events throughout the year.

Substantial underwriting guidelines have changed for the better in the small group health insurance market. Please contact Mike Higgins to discuss the possibility of obtaining a small group plan, and any financial assistance that may be available for your group. On the state level, the Arizona Department of Revenue has a program that helps pay a portion of the premium for up to three years for small groups with 25 or less employees ($1000 a year single employee/$3000 a year family.) There are no salary limitations, but the group must not have offered group health insurance in at least six months, headquartered in Arizona, and in business at least one year. For individuals and families that have missed an open enrollment period or do not need an ACA qualified health insurance plan, Arizona Short Term coverage may be a viable option. Short term policies may be purchased any time of year, with coverage beginning within 24 hours. These plans are half the cost of an ACA policy, mainly because maternity and pre-existing conditions present within the last 5 years are not covered.
