Large Employer Drops Employee Health Insurance

It is ironic, a congressman, a Democrat, owner of several large businesses, recently drops the group health insurance for his employees back home in New Mexico. No would would blame Mr. Teague considering the tough market we are all facing, if not for the fact that his website still brags about the fact that he offers group health insurance for all of his employees. The group health insurance was canceled five months ago, leaving hundreds of families uninsured. Fortunately Congressman Teague’s nearly $40 million dollar interest in his companies are still intact. https://higginscompanies.com/health-insurance/individual-health-insurance/

Of course dropping the group medical insurance plan for his employees made the news, so the congressman said five months ago that he was going to sell all of his interest in the companies. He has yet to do so.

It is one thing to spout on about how wonderful one may be to offer health insurance for the employees, and entirely another matter to continue to claim such a thing when the realities of this economy hit home and benefits are dropped.
